AWARENESS ON WASTE MANAGEMENT (11/22/2014)

As part of Swachhatha Program, our team identified Nirmal Hridai High School, Khammam, Telangana to bring awareness on Waste Management to the children. As Waste is the result of daily human activities and everyone needs to have a proper understanding of waste management issues, without which the success of even the best conceived waste management plan becomes questionable. Subandha Foundation mission is to bring public awareness and participation of students at the school results in successful waste management.

In this event, on 22nd November 2014, Subandha Foundation distributed around 250 trash cans to the students at the school. It detailed the statistics of waste generated by the world, by city and by person. It illustrates how public awareness and participation of students and their parents results in successful waste management by following 3R formula that is Reduce, Reuse & Recycle. Subandha Foundation depicts the consequences of improper management of waste and how it may ultimately pose a serious threat to their lives and well-being. At the end it also conducted a Q & A session with the students to clear their concerns on following 3R formula. Moving forward, we will identify many such schools to bring awareness among children.
